Witnesses testified about the security of radiological materials that can be used by terrorists to construct what are commonly known as “dirty bombs.” Witnesses included representatives of federal agencies responsible for securing those sources, including the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the Homeland Security Department, and the National Nuclear Security Administration. They discussed their efforts in securing radioactive sources. close
