Subcommittee members heard testimony from Internal Revenue Service and General Accounting Office officials and others on Internal Revenue Service organization. Rossotti testified about internal IRS reforms, GAO officials testified about the latest financial audit of the IRS and several taxpayer advocates talked about ways to IRS can be more responsible and accountable to its customers. This was the second in a series of hearings resulting from the first comprehensive audit of federal government agencies recently completed by the General Accounting Office.
