Eileen O’Connell, manager of the Special Collections Library, toured the home and library of World War II correspondent “champion of the common man” Ernie Pyle. The home retains many original features from Pyle’s time and memorabilia about his life. The home itself was left to the city after with specific intent for it to be used as the city’s library. Ms. O’Connell also talked about Ernie Pyle’s work and the impact of his writings, including some of his original works from the Special Collections Library.
