Professor Wilfred McClay joined in a talk about the book he co-edited, Religion Returns to the Public Square: Faith and Policy in America, published by Johns Hopkins University Press. The book addressed the ways in which religion had recently emerged in the arenas of politics, education, and social organizations. The editors argued that America was moving away from a distinction between church and state and that religion, its institutions, and its leaders had increasingly emerged as topics of debate in many public and political forums. Co-editor Wilfred McClay was joined by E.J. Dionne, Jr. who wrote the foreword to the book. After the presentation, the two speakers answered questions from members of the audience. close
