The Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing on courthouse security. The hearing focused on protecting members of the judiciary at home and at the courthouse. Among those testifying was Judge Lefkow, whose mother and husband were shot and killed by a suspect angry with her decision to dismiss his medical malpractice case.
