The three Democratic candidates running for the U.S. Senate seat from Arkansas held their first debate in the University Theatre on the campus of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Two-term U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln is being challenged by Lieutenant Governor Bill Halter and Little Rock businessman D.C. Morrison in the May 18 primary.
The debate iwas sponsored by KATV ABC 7 in Little Rock. KATV anchorman Scott Inman moderated the debate and was joined by a panel of journalists including KHBS/KHOG anchorman Craig Cannon, KATV reporter Jessica Dean and POLITICO reporter David Catanese to question the candidates.
