At a two-day conference on the 1996-97 U.S. Supreme Court term, panelists discussed the voting rights issues before the Court this term. The Court has five cases dealing with these issues on its docket. They focused on what the Court has defined as constitutional congressional districts and what impact this has on lower courts and state legislatures. They also discussed some of the civil rights cases which the previous panel did not examine. close
