Library of Congress officials exhibited the collection of presidential papers housed in the Madison building of the library. They outlined the process of conducting research at the library, toured the stacks of original presidential papers, and talked about historic preservation measures at the library. Among the other topics addressed were the availability of these materials throughout the country, the ways in which they can be accessed, and their importance to historical scholarship. While answering viewer questions on a number of issues, they also talked about the differences between the Library of Congress, presidential libraries, the National Archives and other research institutions. During a short break in the program some C-SPAN promotional material was shown.
