President Obama spoke to supporters of Planned Parenthood, saying efforts to restrict abortion access across the country represented an effort to “turn back the clock” on women’s progress. He criticized several states for enacting stricter laws on abortion and efforts to inhibit the work of family planning clinics. This was the first time a sitting president had addressed the group. close
