Mr. Kitman talked about his book The Making of the Prefident 1789: The Unauthorized Campaign Biography of George Washington, published by HarperCollins. In this book humorist Marvin Kitman applies today’s standards to history and argues that our first president was also the first American leader to ride his personal foibles to political greatness. Mr. Kitman lampoons the modern “campaign insider” books and exposes Washington’s weaknesses for social climbing and high-stakes whist and his relationships with the “Founding Girlfriends". Mr. Kitman also talked about his previous book George Washington’s Expense Account. That book takes a humorous look at George Washington’s "creative” accounting and the expense reports he submitted to Congress for payment while he was Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army.
