Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. Mr. Fern talked about the history of and exhibits in the National Portrait Gallery. Mr. Voss talked about the Gallery’s current exhibit on Frederick Douglass. In the newspaper roundtable, Mr. Evans and Mr. Sidey talked about current news topics and U.S. history. Ms. Panzer talked about the gallery’s photograph archives. Ms. Jackson talked about the varieties of mementos offered in the gallery gift shop. Mr. Fern talked about various exhibits and took callers' questions. close
