The American Center for International Policy Studies hosted their 2005 Summer Symposium from July 31-August 11, 2005. The Symposium annually focuses on the current “hot topics” in International Relations. Students from all over the world and the United States visit the principal U.S. foreign policy decision-making bodies, think tanks, and important embassies to gain insight on the topics and explore the possible solutions to current crises.

Mr. Williams interviewed Mr. Kalb about his experiences during Vietnam and Watergate, a time when the Nixon administration was bullying reporters and creating an enemies' list of people that the White House considered a threat. He then related it to current issues with the Valerie Plume scandal and the Bush Administration’s reluctance to admit that mistakes were made in the handling of the Iraq War. Following the interview, Mr. Williams responded to questions and comments from members of the audience. close
