Panelists presented papers at a symposium on the George W. Bush presidency. In a portion of the symposium focusing on foreign policy issues, Lawrence Korb spoke about “Forging an American Empire,” and Tom Lansford spoke about “Fighting Two Wars.” Among the topics they addressed were the effectiveness of the Bush administration’s attempts to build international coalitions, military strategies in Iraq and the Middle East, efforts to combat terrorism, and current concerns about regional security in South Asia. Following their remarks they answered questions from the audience. close
