Frederic Hof testified on violence in Syria over the previous 9 months. He said the Assad regime was a "dead man walking" and its days were numbered. He also explained the dilemma the administration faced in not encouraging armed resistance. He' stated he hoped the Arab League would be able to persuade Syria to accept some conditions.
