Chairman Greenspan testified about his report on monetary policy and predicted that the economy would slow to a non-inflationary pace. He said that while there were still many risks that the economy might grow too fast, recent interest rate increases, higher oil prices, and a lackluster stock market would keep growth at an acceptable rate.
