The two police chiefs involved, Washington, D.C., Police Chief Cathy Lanier and U.S. Capitol Police Chief Phillip Morse, talked about security preparations for the inauguration of President-Elect Barack Obama on January 20, 2009. Topics included planning for the inaugural events, police officer training, closing bridges and roads to traffic, and the size of crowds expected. They also talked about lessons learned from the three-day attack on the Indian city of Mumbai in November 2008, and the emergency evacuation plan.
