Co-author David Edmonds talked about his book Wittgenstein’s Poker, published by Ecco Press. The book investigates the story behind the legendary 10-minute philosophical debate between Ludwig Wittgenstein and Karl Popper at a meeting of the Moral Science Club at Kings College, Cambridge in 1946. The meeting, which brought together Wittgenstein, Popper and Bertrand Russell for the first and only time, ended prematurely when Wittgenstein allegedly threatened Popper with a fireplace poker. Mr. Edmonds and his co-author used the event to examine the life and work of the two influential philosophers. close
