Government and energy industry officials testified about pipeline safety and improvements to safety regulations. The hearing was held in response to a recent pipeline explosion in San Bruno, California as well as an oil spill in Marshall, Michigan. Among the topics they addressed were the proposed CLEAN Act, safety risks to the general population, and emergency response procedures.
