The House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations held a hearing titled “Safety of Imported Pharmaceuticals: Strengthening Efforts to Combat the Sale of Controlled Substances over the Internet.” Witnesses testified on efforts to combat the sale of controlled substances over the Internet. Among the prescription drugs being sold over the Internet are Percocet, Vicodin, and anabolic steroids. The first panel consisted of government officials.
