Andrew Roberts talked about his book, A History of the English-Speaking Peoples Since 1900, published by HarperColllins. The book is presented as a sequel to Winston Churchill’s A History of the English-Speaking Peoples, which ended with the death of Queen Victoria in 1901. In his book he argued that the 20th century belonged to the English-speaking people of the world. He responded to questions from members of the audience.

Andrew Roberts is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and of the Royal Society of Arts. He was formerly the editor of the London Times.

This event at the Greenville Country Club was the award ceremony for the 2007 Paolucci/Bagehot Book Award from the Intercollegiate Studies Institute. Mrs. Paolucci spoke briefly about the award. close
