The book is presented as a sequel to Winston Churchill’s A History of the English-Speaking Peoples, which ended with the death of Queen Victoria in 1901. In his book he argued that the 20th century belonged to the English-speaking people of the world. He responded to questions from members of the audience.
Andrew Roberts is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and of the Royal Society of Arts. He was formerly the editor of the London Times.
