Witnesses testified before the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Border and Maritime Security about passport fraud and passport screening procedures in the both the U.S. and the rest of the world. They also discussed U.S. officials' use of Interpol data and what can be done to ensure other countries make use of this security information as well. Assistant Homeland Security Secretary Alan Bersin said “an alarming number of countries” provide little or no data to a stolen and lost passports database managed by INTERPOL. close
