A remembrance ceremony for the victims of Pan Am Flight 103 was held. Homeland

Army Chaplain Cruz-Baez offered the opening prayers. A moment of silence was held, followed by a reading of the victims' names. The choir from Pender United Methodist Church in Chantilly, Virginia, sang before Security Chertoff spoke about the tragedy. The ceremony ended with traditional Scottish music played on bagpipes, orchestra music including a rendition of “America the Beautiful,” choir music, and a closing prayer from the chaplain.

The ceremony was held in the Arlington National Cemetary in front of the Lockerbie Cairn, whose 270 blocks of red Scottish sandstone memorialize the 270 lives lost in the terrorist attack on the United States when Pan Am Flight 103 was bombed over Lockerbie, Scotland on December 21, 1988. All 259 people aboard and eleven victims on the ground were killed. close
