Mr. McDougal, a former investigative reporter, talked about his biography, Privileged Son: Otis Chandler and the Rise and Fall of the L.A. Times Dynasty, published by Perseus Publishing. He talked about his former employer Otis Chandler and about the history of the newspaper and of Southern California. The book also is a four-generation Chandler family biography. McDougal is also the author of The Last Mogul: Lew Wasserman, MCA and the Hidden History of Hollywood. After his prepared remarks the author answered questions from members of the audience.
