Law enforcement officials talked about international organized crime and announced a publication on the subject by the National Strategy Information Center. Topics included the scope and extent of organized crime across borders, including drug trafficking, terrorism, and illegal immigration rings; and efforts to prevent organized crime from harming U.S. interests. The report concluded that international organized crime has grown to such an extent that current law enforcement procedures are inadequate for preventing it. The speakers responded to questions following their prepared remarks. close
