Businessman and philanthropist Soros has created a number of foundations to promote politically and economically open societies in Central and Eastern Europe, Haiti, South Africa and the former Soviet Union. His concept of the open society is to allow persons of different opinions and different interests to live together in peace and harmony. A recent project brought food and medicine to people in Bosnia. His foundations also teach entrepreneurship and management. Following his prepared remarks, he took questions from the audience. close
