Members of the Financial Stability Oversight Council (FSOC), which was created as a provision of the 2010 financial regulations law, talked about what had happened since the law’s enactment and why some of its provisions had not been implemented. The mission of the FSOC is to identify and respond to threats to the U.S. financial system. The panel had been expected to release its first annual report at the meeting but Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said the report would be delayed. Other speakers included Federal Reserve Chair Ben Bernanke and Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Mary Schapiro. close
