Witnesses testified about a proposed bill to amend the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967. The bill would clarify that an employer may not discriminate against an employee on the basis of age. It also would overturn the 2009 Supreme Court decision in Gross v. FBL Financial Services Inc., which ruled that an employee who has been discriminated against must prove that his or her age was not just one motivating factor, but the single decisive factor. close
