The 2005 Defense Base Closure and Realignment Commission held a regional hearing on the list of possible closures and realignments of defense bases. Elected officials and community representatives testified about the impact of closing or realigning military installations in Oklahoma. The installations under consideration were Fort Sill and Tinker Air Force Base.
