Committee members heard testimony on gasoline prices in the Midwest and possible solutions
to the crisis. Witnesses included governors from Midwestern states, as well as Energy
Department and petroleum officials. Among the issues they discussed were the causes of the
price increases, competition among oil companies, and possible ways to reduce gas prices. There are several brief program breaks during this hearing.
