Hank Cox talked about his book Lincoln and the Sioux Uprising of 1862, published by Cumberland House Publishing. It chronicles how President Lincoln dealt with an Indian rebellion in Minnesota. The author explains that the Sioux, outraged over the fraud in the Office of Indian Affairs, killed over 300 soldiers, government agents, and settlers during the Civil War. President Lincoln intervened on behalf of the Indians during the trial and reduced the number of captured Sioux that were to be executed from 303 to 38. After his presentation he answered questions from members of the audience. close
