Rear Admiral Galson made opening remarks before a panel of former surgeons general discussed the epidemic of childhood obesity. They made recommendations for reversing and preventing this health problem. They also spoke about the role of health policy and health justice interventions. Then a panel of state surgeons general further discussed childhood obesity and its impact on public health systems. Dr. Eduardo Sanchez moderated. The event was hosted by former Surgeon General Satcher.
