Speaking to a group of “middle class” Americans, President Obama spoke about negotiations to avert impending tax increases and sequestration budget cuts at the end of 2012 if Congress failed to reach a new budget agreement. In his comments he said an agreement was “within sight, but not done yet.” Several members of the group stood behind the president.
