Timothy Carney talked about his book Obamanomics: How Barack Obama Is Bankrupting You and Enriching His Wall Street Friends, Corporate Lobbyists, and Union Bosses (Regnery Press; November 30, 2009). In his book he argues that while he presents himself as a champion of the average American citizen, President Obama is, in reality, more of a champion of big corporations and Wall Street financial firms. Mr. Carney explains the dangers of a growing federal government throughout history and in light of current events. He discussed the history of corporate welfare and the symbiotic relationships between business and government that produce regulatory conditions favorable to monopoly. He responded to questions from members of the audience.
