Romney campaign senior adviser Kevin Madden and Obama campaign spokesperson Jen Psaki discussed the 2012 presidential election. Mr. Madden said that they did not believe President Obama would have the same turnout as 2008 and relied on the lack of enthusiasm for the Democrats. Ms. Psaki said the 2012 election was “harder fought” and after the first debate it was a moment of “hunkering down.” Mr. Madden and Ms. Psaki were interviewed by CBS News political director John Dickerson.
Justin Smith made opening remarks for the fourth annual Washington Ideas Forum, which was held by The Atlantic, the Aspen Institute, and the Newseum in the Annenberg Theater.
