Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Diarmuid O’Scannlain talked about the Constitution and the rule of law. He focused on the legacy of the Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States, first published in 1833, in which Associate Justice Joseph Story set forth a philosophy of judicial restraint. Topics included current cases on same-sex marriage.
