Representatives of the presidential campaigns of Senators John McCain and Barack Obama talked about U.S. foreign policy and strategies to strengthen U.S. nuclear nonproliferation efforts. Among the topics they addressed were each candidates experience with foreign policy issues, efforts by several countries and groups to build nuclear weapons, and various diplomatic approaches to the proliferation problem. They also answered questions from the audience.

John Holum, former director of the Arms Control and Disarmament Agency, spoke for the Obama campaign. The McCain campaign was represented by Stephen Biegun, previously a national security advisor to former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist and executive secretary of the National Security Council from 2001 to 2003. close
