Representative Frank Wolf, R-Virginia and former republican presidential candidate Gary Bauer, talked to reporters about their opposition to permanent normal trade relations (PNTR) with China. Among the issues they raised were the poor human rights record in China, China’s relations with Taiwan, and the military threat posed by China. Human rights activist and dissident, Wei Jingsheng, also spoke about conditions in China and opposition to PNTR. After their remarks they answered questions from reporters. Translation into English was performed by a translator. close
