Nominees to the Federal Election Commission testified about their qualifications before the committee. Chairman Lenhard and Commissioner Walther have been serving in their positions as recess appointments for the past two years. Chairman Lenhard was introduced by Senator Reid, Senator Warner introduced Commissioner Mason, Senator Ensign introduced Commissioner Walther, and Senator Isaacson introduced Commission Von Spakovsky. Topics included voting rights, voter identification, and computerized voter registration. Also discussed was Senator Barak Obama and others' opposition to the nomination of Hans Von Spakovsky because of alleged partisan bias. close
