Roger Noll and Jerry Hausman examined the role of regulation and the impact of the breakup of AT&T in the 1980s in the case U.S. v. AT&T, which reshaped the telecommunications market. In 1982 AT&T agreed to a settlement that would break up the company, and the divestiture began in 1984. Paul Barbagallo was the guest reporter.
