James Lee McDonough is the author of The Wars of Myron King: A B-17 Pilot Faces WW II and U. S.-Soviet Intrigue (University of Tennessee Press; November 30, 2009). He is the author of numerous books, including War in Kentucky: From Shiloh to Perryville and Chattanooga: Death Grip on the Confederacy. He talked about why he wrote about World War II instead of the Civil War. Eighty-six year-old Myron King was in the audience.
Rosemary Mariner is the co-edior of The Atomic Bomb and American Society: New Perspectives (University of Tennessee Press; March 1, 2009). A naval aviator, she was formerly a professor of military studies at the National War College. She talked about the effect of nuclear weapons on American culture.
