David Gibbs talked about his book First Do No Harm: Humanitarian Intervention and the Destruction of Yugoslavia (Vanderbilt University Press; June 29, 2009). He discusssed the U.S./NATO bombing of Yugoslavia in 1999 and argued that this “humanitarian intervention” contributed to the destruction and break-up of the country. He called for a change in U.S. policy when confronting ethnic conflicts around the world. He responded to questions from members of the audience.
