As part of the Millennium Program, Professor Stephen Hawking, Physicist at Cambridge University, spoke about the future of scientific endeavor. He stressed that societies will never reach the utopian visions of science fiction because scientific and technological development would persist. He also stated that science must be used to allow for sustainable growth of world population. He also took questions from the audience.

Professor Hawking wrote A Brief History of Time, a popular book on difficult concepts in physics. close
