A panel moderated by Bernadine Healy talked about disaster preparations and planning, coordination amongst federal, state and local agencies, challenges facing the medical and health infrastructure in the event of natural disaster or pandemic, and lessons learned from past events. They also responded to questions from the audience.

At the day-long Emergency Preparedness Health Summit, health executives, emergency preparedness experts, and leaders of hospitals and medical schools proposed a series of recommendations for hospital administrators, first responders and others to consult as they consider their own preparedness measures.
