Mr. Ford talked via telephone from Paris about the proposed headscarf ban in French public schools and U.S.-France relations. He pointed out that the wearing of headscarves in public schools had always been against French Ministry of Education regulations, but that the new proposal would make it illegal as well.
Mr. Feldman talked about the process of drafting of new constitutions in Iraq and Afghanistan. He had personally worked on the Iraqi constitution in an advisory capacity. He responded to audience telephone calls, faxes, and electronic mail.
