In her book Brooke Hauser documents a year at the Brooklyn International High School, where twenty-eight languages are spoken and none of the student body are native English-speakers. The author reports on the societal obstacles the students face and the many journeys they took to arrive in the United States. She discussed her book with Francis Flaherty and responded to questions from members of the audience at this book-launch event at PowerHouse Arena in Brooklyn, New York.
