Candidates for the Democratic presidential nomination participated in a televised debate at the Cashman Theater in Las Vegas, Nevada. The debate originally aired live on MSNBC. Brian Williams was the moderator, with Tim Russert also asking questions. Natalie Morales asked the candidates questions submitted by viewers over the Internet. Topics included economic development, education, health care and the war in Iraq. Senators Obama and Clinton discussed a racially-charged issue that had emerged last week between their two campaigns.
