John Limbert talked about his new book, Negotiating with Iran: Wrestling the Ghosts of History (U.S. Institute of Peace Press, September 2009).

John W. Limbert was recently appointed Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Iran in the State Department's Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs. Formerly a U.S. diplomat with long experience in Iran, Limbert was held hostage by the Tehran government for 14 months from 1979-1981, for which he won the Department of State's highest award - the Distinguished Service Award - as well as the Award for Valor.
