Vice President Gore delivered the commencement address to U.S. Naval Academy graduates. He served in Vietnam in the U.S. Army. The vice president told the graduates that the United States was very proud and grateful for their service. The vice president made humorous remarks regarding his connections to the Navy by saying the vice president’s residence is actually a naval base and that his meals at home are prepared by naval personnel and said he prefers the chicken tenderloins. The vice president said that the class was “America’s finest” and thanked them for dedicating their lives to the defense of the United States in the face of perilous challenges and risks. close
