Federal Communications Commission Chair Tom Wheeler spoke about the FCC’s decision to write new “net neutrality” rules concerning broadband providers. “Net neutrality refers to the idea that users can access any Web content without Internet provider restrictions or varying charges based on the type of content or amount of bandwidth required. He stressed that the Internet would not be a domain for the "haves and have-nots” but rather one with an open pathway for all users. Following his remarks, he was interviewed by one of his predecessors, former FCC Chair Michael Powell.
