New York Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand spoke to reporters about House passage of a bill providing $9.7 billion to cover flood insurance flood claims filed by individuals whose homes were damaged by Hurricane Sandy. The Senate then passed the legislation by unanimous consent. Speaker John Boehner adjourned the House of Representatives without taking up the $60 billion relief bill the Senate passed the previous week. close
